On 25 April 2025, the Asian Vision Institute (AVI), in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Cambodia and with support from the Young Parliamentarians of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, officially kicked off the “Information Integrity” Training Programme with a Welcome Ceremony presided over by H.E. Suos Yara, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Information of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Young Parliamentarians. The initiative addresses the growing threats of misinformation, disinformation and cyber manipulation in the digital era, particularly their impacts on public trust, national security and democratic governance.
The first session of the programme, “Foundations of Information Integrity in the Digital Landscape”, delivered by a veteran journalist Mr. Puy Kea, President of the Club of Cambodian Journalists, introduced participants to the core principles of ethical information sharing, media responsibility and digital discernment. Designed for government officials, journalists, researchers and young policymakers, the programme spans 48 hours over 12 days, featuring expert-led training modules and a training camp at Kirirom. The curriculum covers critical themes including AI in fact-checking, countering disinformation, cybercrime in ASEAN and Cambodia’s role in cyber diplomacy.
