Rosette is a Director at the Center for Advanced Research and Legal Studies at Asian Vision Institute (“AVI”). She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Sydney in early 2022 and her Bachelor of Arts, with a concentration in Communications, from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 2018. In 2022, she received her Certificate of Practical Legal Training from College of Law in New South Wales, Australia. She was also qualified as an Approved Person by the Trust Regulator of the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2023.
Apart from her work at AVI, Rosette is an associate at Sok Siphana & Associates, one of the most prominent commercial law firms in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with a practice focus on Corporate M&A, Project Finance and Regulatory and Compliance. She has advised domestic and international clients on local regulatory frameworks relating to mergers and acquisitions, foreign exchange control regulations, facility agreements, credit reporting, fund management, strata titles, and secured transactions. She has also assisted in an arbitration case to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre in relation to a construction dispute.
Prior to re-joining Sok Siphana & Associates in 2022 after graduating law school, Rosette has completed summer internships at HongKong Land (Premium Investments) Limited and Vattanac Investment Capital, with a work focus on property management and luxury brands marketing, respectively. In 2020, whilst at law school, she served as an Executive Member of the Sydney University Law Society. In early 2022, she was a short-term paralegal at Baker McKenzie (Sydney) in the Corporate Markets and Financial Services team.
Her areas of research interests include international and comparative law and commercial and corporate law. She is particularly interested in promoting knowledge-sharing across ASEAN countries to strengthen Cambodia’s legal framework.
