Ms. Him Sothearoth

Ms. HIM SOTHEAROTH is currently a Deputy Director of ASEAN Politic-Security Community (APSC), ASEAN General Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA.IC) of Cambodia. During Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2022, she was appointed as a member of the Office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar. Besides, she is a Lecturer at the Institute of International Studies and Public Policy (IISPP), Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP); a Research Fellow at the Mekong Centre for Strategic Studies, Asian Vision Institute (AVI); and an Advisor to ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN) Cambodia. Her personal interests focus peace studies and conflict resolution, political economy and geopolitical studies.

She received her M.A. in International Relations (IR) in 2018 from Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies (GSAPS), Waseda University, Tokyo, JAPAN, and B.A. in International Studies (IS) in 2012 from DIS, IFL, RUPP, Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA.
