Professor Li Erping received a doctorate in political science from Tsinghua University in 2004 and a Master’s degree in law from Tsinghua University in China in 1988. He received his Bachelor’s degree in TCM from Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985. He also studied at Harvard University, Hull University and Hong Kong Baptist University.
Professor Li Erping is a researcher of the ASEAN Studies Center at Kunming University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, the China Foundation for Human Rights Development, and a member of the famous think tank, Chahar Institute. He once taught at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, and Shantou University. He was also a researcher at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies of Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences. He has extensive research in international human rights and diplomacy, Southeast Asian international relations, and public policy analysis. At present, his research interests mainly focus on the geopolitical, economic and cultural relations between China and Cambodia. He also has a strong interest in the geopolitical relations between China and Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar, and hopes to study the relations between China and south peninsula as a whole.
